Optional Competitions
State Wear

We want to see you represent Alabama! This optional competition allows you to not only be creative, but hit the runway in style by showcasing what you believe is special about our state. Judging will be on creativity, uniqueness, stage personality, and overall enthusiasm for our state. One winner per age division. Overall Group 1 and Group 2 winners will win National Optional Competition credits of $75 each.
Entry Guidelines: You will need to bring 3 copies of the original State Wear Optional Competition emcee card to your state pageant check-in.
Casual Wear
$50
Showcase your favorite casual outfit by modeling for the judges during the Casual Wear Modeling competition. One winner per age division. One winner per age division. Overall Group 1 and Group 2 winners will win National Optional Competition credits of $75 each.
Entry Guidelines: You will need to bring 3 copies of the original Casual Wear Modeling Optional Competition emcee card to your state pageant check-in.
Fitness Wear
$50
Let's see your fit side. This is your chance to walk the runway in your favorite fitness or sportwear outfit! Delegates can wear shorts, capris, pants, or skirts along with any age-appropriate top. One winner per age division. Overall Group 1 and Group 2 winners will win National Optional Competition credits of $75 each.

Photogenic
$50
Are you photogenic? Now is your chance to shine through our Photogenic competition. Submit your photo and be judged on overall look, confidence, and personality. One winner per age division. Overall Group 1 and Group 2 winners will win National Optional Competition credits of $75 each.
Entry guidelines: You will need to email photogenic entries to alabama@usamericanmiss.com by January 3, 2023.Each delegate may enter a maximum of 4 entries.
Portfolio
$50
Delegates can submit a modeling-style portfolio containing 5-10 photos of various poses. Portfolios should include headshots, ¾ length and full body shots. One winner per age division. Overall Group 1 and Group 2 winners will win National Optional Competition credits of $75 each.
Entry guidelines: You will need bring the portfolio labeled with the delegates first name ONLY and division to state pageant check-in.
